Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing Athena
How to Draw a Great Looking Athena for Kids, Beginners, and Adults - Step 1
1. Begin by sketching the female face. Use curved lines to outline the eyes, pointed at each color. Make the upper line of the eye thick and dark. Within each eye, draw two successively smaller circles. Shade between them, indicating the pupil. Use curved lines to sketch the nose, smiling mouth, and lips.

2. Use curved lines to outline Athena's face and hair. Note the contour of the cheek and point of the chin. Use "U" shaped lines for the hair, and allow some to meet at points. Use curved lines to sketch the eyebrows.

3. Draw Athena's crested helmet. Use a large "U" shaped line to outline the helmet. Use curved lines to sketch a triangular shape above it, textured with a vertical line. Then, use a series of "U" shaped lines to outline the plume.

4. Sketch the girl's neck and shoulders. Extend two curved lines below the head. Use "U" shaped lines for the shoulders and neck of the garment. Contour the collarbones with curved lines. Draw a small circle on each shoulder, and a curved line to outline the armor.

5. Use pairs of lines to outline the upper and lower arm and the gauntlet. Connect the lines at the ends. Then, use overlapping curved lines to draw the fingers and hand.

6. Use curved lines to sketch the torso armor. Then, use curved lines that meet at jagged points to outline Athena's hair.

9. Draw Athena's shield and spear, erasing as necessary. Extend straight parallel lines on each side of the fist, and connect them at each end. At the top, draw a small circle and a diamond, forming the spear tip. Draw a line down its center. For the shield, draw an oval within an oval, partially hidden behind Athena's body. Draw narrow curved rectangles crossing her arms.
